Registered Nurse Per Diem Pool - Emergency Department PRN

About This Role

Manage and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Emergency Department, ensuring safe and competent care in accordance with facility policies and standards. Provide professional leadership to the healthcare team, focusing on Patient Centered Care.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures
• Perform primary function of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing care provided to patients
• Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team
• Oversee and guide nursing employees under supervision
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts with identification and assistance in resolutions
• Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times

Requirements

• Two years previous full-time RN or three years part time RN experience in acute care setting
• Availability to work for one full weekend per month
• Availability to work for one full holiday, recognized by STHS
• Commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
• Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas
• Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University
• Must have and maintain BLS

Qualifications

• Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University. BSN preferred.
• Two years previous full-time RN or three years part time RN experience in acute care setting
