The Outpatient RN is primarily responsible for performing telephone triage for an outpatient office. This role assists with implementing provider orders, including prescription refills, ordering tests, and arranging referrals, while also performing patient intake, teaching, and administering medications.
Responsibilities
- Perform telephone triage for an outpatient office
- Assist with the implementation of provider orders
- Oversee prescription refills
- Order tests and arrange referrals
- Perform patient intake history
- Conduct patient teaching and counseling
- Administer medications
- Assist in various procedures as necessary
- Ensure proper documentation
- Communicate relevant patient information to providers
- Schedule patient visits
- Travel to facilities to assist providers as needed
Requirements
- New York State licensure as a registered nurse
- CPR Certification
- 3-5 years experience
Qualifications
- Educational requirements to be a licensed RN in NYS
- 3-5 years experience
Nice to Have
- Office Practice experience
- Geriatrics experience
Certifications
CPR certification
