Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical

About This Role

This Registered Nurse (RN) role involves providing direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical (Post Acute Care) setting by administering medications, performing clinical treatments, and monitoring patient conditions. The position collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care given accurately
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or family and provide age-appropriate education
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Requirements

• State of Michigan RN license
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school
