About This Role

The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) at Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) provides patient-centered care within legal and ethical frameworks. This role involves utilizing the nursing process, upholding YNHHS values, and contributing to quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the YNHHS mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives to provide patient-centered care
• Practice professional nursing within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, integrating cultural and diversity understanding
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Respect patient values, preferences, and needs in data collection, outcome formulation, and evaluation
• Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate care delivery and transitions in care
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment
• Engage in professional role activities including leadership, ethics, culturally congruent practice, and evidence-based practice
• Evaluate own and others' nursing practice and utilize appropriate resources

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
• Current BCLS certification (or obtain within one month of hire)
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience required
