Provide quality patient care to critically ill patients in an ICU setting, through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Serve as a patient advocate and supervise nursing care provided by other caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality patient care to critically ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Serve as a patient advocate at all times.
- Supervise the nursing care provided to each patient by other caregivers.
- Develop the plan for nursing care in coordination with the patient, family, and staff of other disciplines.
- Apply critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes and ensure patient education.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Maintain the standard of nursing care and implement hospital policies and procedures.
- Document patient admission assessment, reassessments, care plans, and pertinent information in the electronic medical record.
- Administer medications with knowledge of action, side effects, correct dosages, and route.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to patient changes in condition, instituting emergency action as needed.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
- BCLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum one year training and experience in Critical Care
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Minimum one year training and experience in Critical Care.
