Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

About This Role

This Registered Nurse position delivers professional nursing care in an assigned clinical area, focusing on direct patient care, treatment planning, and regulatory compliance within the WMCHealth network.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care
• Provide patient-centered care to medically complex patients
• Supervise care, treatment, and services of the patient(s)
• Document the patient's plan of care using nursing diagnosis, expected patient outcomes and appropriate nursing interventions
• Maintain confidentiality at all times with patients, medical staff, and co-workers
• Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment, using empathy
• Adhere to and support policies/procedures/goals/objectives of WMCHealth and the local hospital
• Implement physicians' orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests
• Assess and evaluate patients' needs for, and responses to, care rendered
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions

Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department
• Current BLS certification

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, BSN preferred
• Previous professional nursing experience required
