About This Role

Provide quality patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU using the nursing process, serving as a patient advocate, and supervising other caregivers. This role involves critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes and ensure patient education and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care to critically ill patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Serve as a patient advocate at all times.
• Supervise nursing care provided to patients by other caregivers.
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Apply critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes.
• Ensure patient education and participate in discharge planning.
• Maintain the standard of nursing care and implement hospital policies and procedures.
• Assess patients on admission and reassess as required.
• Administer medications with knowledge of action, side effects, correct dosages, and routes.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to patient changes in condition, instituting emergency actions as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse
• BCLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum one year training and experience in Critical Care
• Able to communicate effectively in English - both written and verbal
• Good and regular attendance
