Registered Behavior Technician

About This Role

This role involves working as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Conard High School within West Hartford Public Schools, focusing on implementing IEP goals, collecting data, and supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Implement student Behavior Intervention Plans
• Maintain and report student records
• Communicate with classroom teachers regarding student progress
• Perform Physical Management in the event of an emergency
• Discharge duties in accordance with RBT Ethics Code
• Other duties as assigned by a supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Pupil Services Department Supervisor

Requirements

• Completion of required training including 40-hour online course and supervision hours by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
• Passing score on the RBT Competency Assessment
• Pass the initial RBT examination and annual recertification process
• Current certification or ability to obtain certification in Physical Management Training
• At least 18 years of age
• Pass all necessary background checks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher
