About This Role

Operate rebar fabrication equipment and assist in the loading and unloading of materials within a heavy industrial environment, contributing to the CMC Safety Culture and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training regarding applicable equipment
  • Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
  • Mentor and train team members on proper equipment use
  • Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
  • Serve as the leadman in his/her absence, as necessary
  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders

Requirements

  • Ability to work outside under all weather conditions
  • Ability to cross train as required
  • Ability to follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies
  • Strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to find root causes for issues
  • Ability to operate fabrication machines safely without supervision
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as business requires
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps
  • Ability to read technical documents and service manuals
  • Ability to write job instructional training documents
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to be punctual

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years preferably in a heavy industrial environment experience
