About This Role

This role oversees maintenance and regulatory compliance for bp's North American railcar fleet, ensuring safe and reliable movement of rail shipments. This involves working with a skilled commercial and technical team and collaborating with the HSSE group.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure fleet compliance with AAR, DOT and FRA regulations
  • Manage OT-57 and OTMA applications
  • Manage fleet maintenance activities performed by 3rd party providers
  • Assist in the management of key 3rd Party interfaces including Bourque Logistics and Alltranstek
  • Work closely with HSSE group to investigate and resolve fleet issues or incidents
  • Develop annual rail equipment budget including cleaning, lease return, maintenance and regulatory compliance costs
  • Assist in rail fleet sizing models and lead efforts to improve rail car utilization and reduce equipment costs
  • Support acquisition, return or swapping (between bp fleets) of leased rail cars

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant experience in railcar maintenance

Nice to Have

  • Strong working knowledge related to the code of federal regulations, AAR/FRA, and Tankcar specific rules and regulations
  • Tankcar management experience with both general purpose and pressure cars
  • Experience in Oil, Gas, Biofuels or similar industry
