Radiology Technologist

About This Role

Operate X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated body portions, perform quality control checks, and maintain required documentation for patients at Northwell Health.

Responsibilities

• Operate X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body
• Perform quality control checks on equipment
• Maintain required documentation for all procedures
• Translate examination into layman terms to relieve patient anxiety
• Perform various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures
• Position patient for taking of radiographs according to departmental standard operating procedures
• Recognize and promptly report patient’s motor abnormalities (fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc.) to the Radiologist
• Operate equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape
• Utilize film markers and ensure images are properly marked as “right” or “left” side
• Ensure images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification
• Key in Patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisition
• Arrange, attach, or adjust immobilization and supportive devices for patients

Requirements

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma
• Current license to practice as a Radiology Technologist in New York State
• Current ARRT Radiology registration
• 1-3 Years Of Technical Experience

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required
• 1-3 Years Of Technical Experience, Required.
