About This Role

The Radiological Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation. This role involves obtaining patient history, positioning patients, and performing radiographic procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner
  • Position and immobilize patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
  • Perform radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures
  • Verify informed consent and complete pre and post procedure documentation
  • Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures
  • Apply appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed
  • Travel to the Kenwood location on occasion

Requirements

  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Associates from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute
  • 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care

Nice to Have

  • Associates from an ARRT accredited institute
  • State Licensure
  • 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care
  • Experience with Radiology Information System
