About This Role

Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging radiographs using ionizing radiation for various age groups, ensuring patient safety and effective communication. This role involves obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, and providing excellent patient care according to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ionizing radiation to create diagnostic imaging radiographs of designated anatomical areas
  • Obtain patient history and explain routine procedures
  • Address patient concerns and provide appropriate patient care following Radiology Gold Service Excellence guidelines
  • Exercise professional judgment in accordance with the ARRT Code of Conduct
  • Contribute as a team member to enhance job stewardship and customer service standards
  • Maintain knowledge of and observe universal precautions and all other precautions
  • Use and maintain aseptic technique
  • Respond to patients' changing physical conditions
  • Identify and administer correct contrast media per GI/GU department protocol
  • Display excellent customer service skills while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills
  • Adapt to changing environments and function effectively under fast-paced and stressful conditions
  • Maintain current ARRT registration

Requirements

  • Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or equivalent
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (or registry eligible)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills, ingenuity, creativity, and professionalism
  • Understanding of age-appropriate guidelines for communication, positioning, radiation exposures, and protection
  • Physical ability to push, pull, assist, transfer patients, and move heavy radiology equipment
  • Physical dexterity using fine motor skills
  • Dependability

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

  • PACS experience
  • Proficient computer entry skills
  • Experience with digital imaging in inpatient and trauma settings
  • Familiarity with GE C-arms, Medtronic O-arm, Shimadzu portables, GI/GU Procedures, and Siemens equipment
