Radiation Therapist

About This Role

Deliver prescribed, planned courses of radiation therapy to patients of all ages, including simulation, mold room duties, treatment, and quality assurance. This role contributes to excellence in patient-focused, whole-person care at Providence St. Jude Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurately the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy for patients of any age group
• Perform simulation and mold room duties
• Conduct radiation treatment procedures
• Execute quality assurance protocols related to radiation therapy
• Assist with dosimetry as requested by the Radiation Oncologist
• Provide nursing assistance as requested by the Radiation Oncologist
• Assess situations and exercise care, discretion, and judgment
• Assume responsibility for professional decisions
• Act in the best interest of the patient

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of formal education program in radiation therapy or 1 year experience
• National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire
• California Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification upon hire OR California Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification upon hire

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of formal education program in radiation therapy or 1 year experience
• Entry level, or 1 year experience in radiation therapy
