About This Role

Join Lexicon as a Quality Control Inspector to ensure the highest production standards in a fabrication shop for new construction projects. This role involves inspecting structural steel and welding for adherence to AISC Codes and AWS specifications, making a significant impact on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards
  • Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards
  • Inspect bolted and/or riveted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc.
  • Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site
  • Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc.
  • Perform on-site internal audit to confirm, or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company QA/QC Manual
  • Ensure compliance of AISC and AWS Standards with company subcontractors
  • Work within guidelines provided in company QA/QC Manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to climb to heights more than 300 feet
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to tolerate loud noises and temperature fluctuations
  • Capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Qualifications

  • High School education or the equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding
