Quality Assurance Specialist Journeyman

About This Role

This role supports quality assurance efforts for systems and applications within the Army Resource Cloud environment by implementing quality control processes, performing testing and defect management, and ensuring compliance with DoD and Army standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining a Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure services and products meet established quality standards and industry benchmarks
• Support the design and execution of test plans, scripts, and procedures to evaluate software systems using manual and automated methods
• Identify, document, and track defects for resolution
• Ensure adherence to DoD and Army regulations, including RMF and cybersecurity standards, and support the implementation of quality assurance processes
• Maintain records of quality assurance activities, including test results and defect reports, and provide updates to stakeholders
• Work with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to identify quality issues and recommend solutions

Requirements

• Active or Current DOD Secret Clearance
• 3 to 6 years of IT and business/industry experience with a focus on quality assurance, software testing, and process improvement
• Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, tools, and best practices

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another relevant field is required.
• 3 to 6 years of IT and business/industry experience, with a focus on quality assurance, software testing, and process improvement.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of DoD and Army standards (Risk Management Framework, cybersecurity compliance, AR 25-2, AR 735-5)
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and DevSecOps practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• ISTQB Certified Tester or similar certification
