Qualified Medication Aide (QMA)

About This Role

Assist physicians and nurses by performing administrative tasks and basic patient care, including dispensing medications and monitoring residents' responses. This role offers flexible scheduling and daily or weekly pay options for Qualified Medication Aides.

Responsibilities

• Dispense oral and topical medications to residents per physician's order
• Record medications given and their dosages in the nurse's medication administration record (MAR) chart
• Observe residents for symptoms and conditions related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions, or side effects
• Assist with resident care as needed

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• A valid QMA license in the state of Iowa
