As a Qualified Medication Aide, you will deliver skilled nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, focusing on medication administration and resident well-being at a skilled pediatric nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and safely administer regularly prescribed oral medications to residents and document them
- Administer oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse
- Take and record appropriate vital signs as required before administering certain medications
Requirements
- Certified as Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana
- Completed a State approved training program in medication administration
- Possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies
- Understand that injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse
- Understand that telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA
- Perform only those duties that were taught in the approved training program
