About This Role

As a QA Analyst II at Obie, you will ensure the quality and reliability of insurance products and systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and execute comprehensive test plans. You will perform various testing phases, identify and document defects, and contribute to improving testing frameworks to deliver reliable, efficient insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and QA artifacts based on specifications
  • Execute various testing phases including smoke, end-to-end, user acceptance, and regression testing
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects and issues effectively to development teams and stakeholders
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results, activities, and defect tracking
  • Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues to ensure software quality
  • Develop and maintain automated testing suites for web services and applications
  • Utilize analytical skills to understand in-house/vendor systems, formulas, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the improvement of QA processes, tools, and frameworks to enhance product quality and delivery speed
  • Support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline releases
  • Provide insightful feedback and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making and product improvements
  • Promote collaboration and transparency during development cycles to ensure reliable software releases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience developing, executing, and monitoring application and business test cases
  • 1+ years experience creating test automation suites on web services
  • Expertise in reviewing and designing test cases, strategies, and plans for multiple application releases
  • Experience with Salesforce, Policy Administration Systems (PAS)
  • Experience with GSuite and JIRA or similar task management tools
  • Familiarity with Java, Python
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Postman, Percy, and Playwright
  • Understanding of accessibility testing, cross-browser/platform testing, performance, and security testing
  • Strong analytical skills and technical communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a remote, dispersed environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience developing, executing, and monitoring application and business test cases, with 1+ years creating test automation suites on web services

Nice to Have

  • 3+ years experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry or insurtech
