Data Analyst

About This Role

This role involves supporting the firm's class-action practice by managing, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to provide critical insights for case strategies and client outcomes. The Data Analyst will partner with attorneys and clients, focusing on complex matters such as wage and hour disputes and pay equity cases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with attorneys and clients to assess data needs, develop analysis strategies, and deliver actionable insights
• Obtain, structure, and manage raw datasets from various sources such as payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS systems
• Perform advanced data analytics to generate reports such as exposure analyses, pay equity audits, and class lists
• Create visual dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Excel to communicate findings effectively
• Design and implement data workflows for wage and hour analyses, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across multiple data formats
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel, to facilitate data-related discussions
• Coordinate with IT, eDiscovery, and Practice Support teams to ensure secure handling of sensitive data throughout case lifecycle
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for data analysis, visualization, and reporting to enhance litigation support
• Assist with analysis related to class-action processes, including CAFA removal, class list preparation, and sampling analyses
• Support attorneys during trial preparation, depositions, and motion practice by providing precise data summaries and visual exhibits
• Manage data collection, review, and interpretation during discovery processes and witness interviews
• Ensure accurate recording of billable hours and timely submission of time entries, adhering to firm policies

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with demonstrated expertise in complex data analysis and reporting
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, data analytics, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and complex formulas
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with SQL or equivalent database querying languages
• Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG), and wage/hour analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, data analytics, or a related field
• 4-6+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, with demonstrated expertise in complex data analysis and reporting.

Nice to Have
