About This Role

Lead and mentor a team of media relations specialists, developing and executing comprehensive media strategies to secure high-impact media placements for franchise brands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of media relations specialists, providing clear direction and ongoing training in pitching and relationship management
  • Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies that align with client objectives and overall business vision
  • Personally engage with media outlets via phone and email to pitch client stories and secure media coverage
  • Drive daily media outreach efforts, ensuring consistent and proactive communication with reporters, editors, and influencers
  • Oversee the end-to-end process of media relations campaigns, from initial pitch through secured placement and post-campaign analysis
  • Collaborate with content and client success teams to ensure pitches and media strategies align with client messaging and objectives
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including call volume, pitch success rate, and media placements secured
  • Continuously optimize media relations tactics based on data insights and market trends
  • Act as a key liaison for clients regarding media relations strategy, providing regular updates and insights
  • Present campaign results and recommendations to clients

Requirements

  • Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong track record of successful pitching and securing media coverage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to craft compelling pitches and build relationships over the phone and in person
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Deep understanding of media landscapes, journalist needs, and best practices in media outreach
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using CRM or PR analytics tools
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in media relations, public relations, or a related field, with a strong track record of successful pitching and securing media coverage

Nice to Have

  • Experience in franchising or a related industry
  • Willingness to travel as needed to attend industry events and client meetings
