About This Role

Join the Propulsion System HIL team to develop and maintain Hardware-In-the-Loop simulators for propulsion systems, collaborating with global cross-functional teams to ensure rapid HIL simulator setup and resolve integration issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HIL systems (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems) with thorough knowledge of HIL simulator hardware and ECU electrical interface definition
  • Serve as the primary interface between the HIL development team and external teams (SW, Controls, CAL teams)
  • Collaborate with teams on HIL requirements and impact analysis
  • Interface with cross-functional teams (ECU Hardware, Systems, SW, Controls, Plant Modeling, Calibration engineers) to rapidly set up HIL simulators for specified vehicle configurations
  • Resolve HIL simulation environment and/or integration issues, triage, and troubleshoot during commissioning of HIL test properties
  • Conduct benchmarks and evaluate new HIL technologies
  • Work with teams on process, methodology, and tools

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical/electronics, hardware, software or controls
  • Knowledge and experience with ICE, Transmission, Vehicle Dynamics, EE, electric and hybrid Systems
  • Demonstrated Hardware-In-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, NI HIL systems)
  • Hands-on experience with dSpace Simulators (Scalexio), Harness design, implementation, Electrical Loads
  • Experience with HIL electrical/wiring harness, load box design, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK
  • Knowledge of CAN stack, SPI, LIN and Flash bootloader integration
  • Knowledge in diagnostic management: CANalyzer, CANoe
  • Knowledge of Simulation Tool (e.g. CarMaker, ASM)
  • Knowledge/experience with UDS, XCP protocol
  • Familiarity using trace capture tools, data acquisition and analysis tools such as ETAS - INCA
  • Experience with HIL testing, vehicle integration and validation
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working cross-functionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical/electronics, hardware, software or controls

Nice to Have

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of working experience of MIL/SIL/xIL Development & testing & delivery of test properties
  • Detailed knowledge about ICE, Hybrid and BEV applications
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and specific simulation software
  • Good working experience with dSpace Simulators, Hardware design and implementation
  • Experience of working within an AGILE or Scrum framework
  • Experience in Test Automation
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity
  • Understanding of the development of embedded software
