This role involves developing controls solutions for next-generation Powertrain technologies, focusing on systems requirements and design for propulsion systems. The engineer will lead the development of features, analyze functional objectives, and provide technical guidance to the team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze Functional Objectives related features to determine design feasibility and provide feedback to Vehicle team
- Design and develop feature design and requirements for all assigned features
- Design and develop the DFMEA for all assigned features
- Plan and delivery based on requests from external stakeholders
- Participate in relevant Feature team meetings for planning work and tracking deliverables
- Work closely with Product Management to identify and prioritize deliverables and escalate risks
- Mitigate risks impacting successful team completion of committed deliverables
- Work closely with other teams to identify dependencies and resolve risks
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team
- Represent team in front of external stakeholders, customers, and other teams
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related area
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering, Design Engineer, Controls Development, or Calibration
- Capable of creating Logical as well as Physical Schematics
- Experience authoring Requirements and specifications
- Working experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Highly motivated/self-starter with proven leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related area
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering, Design Engineer, Controls Development, or Calibration
Nice to Have
- Master of Science or PHD in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related area
- Propulsion system experience/ exposure or training
- Experience in leveraging Model Based Systems Engineering methodology
- Experience in using INCA, Matlab, Simulink, DOORS, and Visio
- Experience using CANalyzer or CANoe
- Experience with communication networks (i.e. CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc.)
