Project Manager, Operations Project Management

About This Role

Lead projects to transform Novolex's operations by partnering with various functions to develop business cases, establish governance models, and manage resources. Monitor and report on project portfolios to ensure delivery within scope, budget, and agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on all project management activities for an assigned project or program from Initiation through Closure
• Maintain all project artifacts to the quality standard established by the PMO
• Manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously, potentially across multiple businesses, time zones, and internationally
• Work with sponsors to develop project charters including the business case
• Identify and manage project and program interdependencies
• Manage external parties involved in an assigned project
• Manage project completion, handover to steady-state, and post implementation reviews
• Establish and maintain program and portfolio governance across assigned portfolio
• Manage resources across assigned portfolio that will include 2-3 major transformations for the business
• Manage risk and issues, as well as interdependencies across assigned portfolio

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Successful experience in managing projects across multiple business functions and disciplines
• Concepts of business analysis and critical thinking (business case development, root cause analysis, business decision matrices, business process mapping and optimization)
• Effective implementation and execution of a governance model
• Working knowledge of organizational change management
• Experience leading discussions and extracting required information to define business requirements, project scope, solution design, project planning, resource management, risk and issue management, communications plans
• Ability to confront situations that need resolution
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Confidence and competence in presentation of materials
• Professional interpersonal & negotiation skills

• Able to travel up to 50% of time domestically and internationally
• Smartsheet and/or MS Project Proficient
