This position supports the reliability of all automation and control systems within the facility, performing tests, diagnostics, repairs, improvements, and upgrades to equipment, instrumentation, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Drive a zero EHS incident culture, support and participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and identify preventive actions
- Monitor, adjust, calibrate and repair manufacturing equipment, instruments, fixtures, etc.
- Conduct in-depth PLC, HMI, motor and drive troubleshooting and provide effective solutions
- Read and modify PLC ladder diagrams
- Perform electrical and electronic installations and modifications including drives and programming controllers
- Troubleshoot and maintain Fanuc robotic automation (Palletizers, Case erectors, Pick and Place)
- Interpret all levels of drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, etc.
- Provide higher level technical assistance to the plant shift electrician team
- Provide training to all levels of the organization
- Maintain and manage the engineering department technical procedures, manuals and drawings
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience with extensive automation and controls work
- Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, motor and drive troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of AC vector and servo drive technology
- In-depth understanding of electric circuitry, electronics and electromechanical concepts (AC and DC, Sinking / Sourcing, Analog, etc.)
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical concepts
- Basic understanding of PC components
- Knowledge of OSHA Electrical Standards, National Electric Code (NEC)
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and SAP
- Strong troubleshooting skills
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required, Associate’s degree in maintenance or industrial technology preferred
- Minimum five years of industrial maintenance experience with extensive automation and controls work
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree in maintenance or industrial technology
- Experience with Mitsubishi, Schneider, GE, or Opto 22 PLC systems
- Knowledge of CAD system (i.e. AutoCAD, Vizio, etc.)
