Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater

About This Role

Manage water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects, developing detailed designs and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. This role contributes to sustainable solutions from planning through construction, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs, consisting of drawings, specifications, and calculations for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Manage technical tasks including planning, design, and construction support for civil infrastructure projects
• Support larger projects or lead smaller projects or components, coordinating with the Project Manager, team members, and sub-consultants
• Ensure the timely completion of tasks and assist in managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
• Provide expert support for multi-disciplinary teams in planning and executing infrastructure projects, including pipelines, tanks/reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment facilities
• Understand and apply industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines
• Conduct site inspections and field measurements
• Engage in field activities, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis
• Prepare engineering documents and contract documents, including construction specifications and plans
• Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, and prepare site observation reports
• Assist in preparing client presentations and maintaining client communication
• Ensure compatibility with design intent by coordinating with other disciplines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific discipline
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the planning, design, and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Broad understanding of municipal engineering, site development design, construction methods, and design and construction codes

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree
• Oregon Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Oregon PE within 6 months of hire
