Project Engineer

About This Role

Lead engineering projects from concept through production approval, impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity within a manufacturing environment. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle engineering initiatives from concept and design to FAI/PPAP
• Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
• Track performance to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, and on budget
• Partner with operations, quality, maintenance, safety, supply chain, and external vendors
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during launches and ongoing production
• Coordinate customer prints, tolerance negotiations, GD&T interpretation, and product requirements
• Plan BOMs, process routings, work instructions, setup documentation, and packaging solutions
• Estimate cost and technical requirements for new business opportunities
• Travel to support project launches and customer/supplier engagement

Requirements

• At least two years of engineering project management or new product launches experience
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and high‑volume production
• Proficient with MS Office
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Strong 2D/3D CAD skills
• Solid analytical and mathematical skills
• Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering preferred). Equivalent combination of education and training can be considered.
• At least two years of engineering project management or new product launches

Nice to Have

• Manufacturing experience, especially metal forming or roll forming
• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF, NADCAP, or AS9100 environments
• PMP certification
• Microsoft Project experience
• Global Shop Solutions experience
• AutoCAD/Inventor experience
