Project Engineer II

About This Role

The Project Engineer II oversees day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and financial success. This role involves project management, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and active leadership within the project team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects
• Promote and exemplify safe work practices
• Work with Project Management and Field Supervision to establish operational priorities and ensure project quality
• Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs
• Estimate, value engineer, and develop project budgets
• Facilitate the subcontractor bid process
• Utilize software programs and templates for project documentation
• Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout, and develop/negotiate subcontracts
• Plan and schedule projects
• Manage jobs in progress including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, quality, and safety
• Manage project costs through ongoing evaluation and forecasting
• Perform project closeout
• Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating, and providing clear direction
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members

Requirements

• B.S. in Construction Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in construction field
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail oriented
