Project Engineer, Facilities and Sort Systems

About This Role

This Project Engineer role involves managing engineering activities for sorting facilities and systems, including equipment engineering, problem analysis, and project management, to ensure efficient operations for a major package transportation company.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering activities for Memphis-corporate, regional sorting facilities and/or sort systems controlled by facilities management
• Perform maintenance-related equipment engineering
• Conduct problem analysis/resolution for sort systems
• Manage projects related to facilities and sort systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 7+ years experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of high volume package sort equipment or industrial environment
• Knowledge of design/engineering, contract administration, technical project and maintenance techniques of material handling, HVAC, and electrical systems
• Strong analytical, human relations and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• Seven (7) years related experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of high volume package sort equipment or other industrial environment

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript
• Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with database management (SQL)
• Experience with version control (Git)
