Project Engineer, Aviation

About This Role

Join the Aviation service team as a Project Engineer, focusing on diverse roadway design, airport planning, and airfield civil design projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects
• Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations
• Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Produce high quality work and implement and maintain quality assurance procedures
• Oversee the technical aspects of various projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultants
• Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies
• Identify applicable codes, standards or other design requirements
• Perform field reviews and other assessments for use in design
• Mentor, train and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel

Requirements

• 3+ years of diverse roadway design experience
• BS in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Wisconsin (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
• Proficient in Autodesk Civil3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient in the use of national design standards (MUTCD, AASHTO, etc.)
• Proficient in applying ADA/PROWAG criteria in public infrastructure design

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering preferred, with diverse roadway design experience

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of aviation planning, programming, design and construction
• Working experience with FAA Advisory Circulars and an understanding of Bureau of Aeronautics policies and procedures
