About This Role

This Project Engineer role assists with bidding, proposal development, scheduling, project and cost management, and field supervision within the construction industry, ensuring projects adhere to specifications and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Review contract document provisions and design documents for compliance to specifications.
  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with project proposal review, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and solicit competitive trade proposals.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop estimates.
  • Assist with job site start-up and maintain schedules.
  • Complete accurate daily reports, produce project photographs, and manage safety logs using CMiC.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and perform punch list verification.
  • Issue monthly payment applications and prepare master cost breakdowns.
  • Prepare notices to the owner for damages, delays, or changes and project close-out documentation.
  • Participate in monthly project reviews, project meetings, corporate meetings and forums.
  • Comply with all safety policies, report concerns, and enhance safety programs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of construction operations
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents (drawings, specifications, maps, surveys, etc.)
  • Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, cost control procedures, and scheduling
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Understanding of local, state, federal (including OSHA), and company safety and environmental regulations
  • Proficiency in computers, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, or similar position, with a construction general contractor is preferred.
