This contract Program Manager position provides critical operational support to a large engineering organization as a key member of a centralized business management team. The role focuses on day-to-day execution of business operations, including budget management, financial forecasting, purchase order tracking, and requisition monitoring, within a chief-of-staff-style framework. The Program Manager will act as a vital point of contact, supporting leadership through meeting coverage, follow-ups, and coordination of various business activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily business operations activities including responding to emails and internal communications promptly and professionally
- Support budget tracking and financial forecasting activities to ensure accurate reporting and planning
- Monitor and manage purchase orders and open requisitions throughout their lifecycle
- Coordinate team culture communication initiatives to foster engagement and alignment
- Represent leadership in meetings when needed and provide comprehensive follow-up on action items
- Track and report on active open roles and recruitment activities
- Serve as a point of contact for operational pass-downs and day-to-day business requests
- Maintain organized documentation and records of business management activities
- Collaborate with administrative team members to ensure smooth execution of ongoing projects
- Support training coordination and operational requests as they arise
Requirements
- 2-4 years of project management experience
- 2-4 years of experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
- 2-4 years of experience with Microsoft Excel
- 2-4 years of experience using Copilot or AI-based productivity tools
- Previous experience in a business manager or program operations role
- Background in finance, project management, or related business operations field
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Organizational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of project management experience; 2-4 years of experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; 2-4 years of experience using Copilot or AI-based productivity tools; Previous experience in a business manager or program operations role with a background in finance, project management, or related business operations field.
