About This Role

This role involves developing and maintaining Emergency Plans for Avangrid, working closely with leaders across the company to ensure plans are current and effective for training, exercises, and real-world events. The position also focuses on leading cross-functional teams to meet compliance requirements and support emergency response operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a deliberate planning process to update existing plans or develop new plans, designing them to be effective for training and executable during emergencies
  • Collaborate with training, exercise, and operations staff to ensure plans are trained to and evaluated for updates during exercises or after real-world events
  • Update plans based on lessons learned and corrective actions
  • Track and manage inventory of plans and maintenance schedules to meet external compliance and internal planning requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, leading discussions, and planning sessions with cross-functional teams to solve problems
  • Manage multiple projects, working effectively with various stakeholders to accomplish program goals
  • Prepare and manage budgets, contracts, and expenses for the program area
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, from technical to executive leadership, developing clear materials and presentations
  • Work collaboratively with other program staff and support the team in other areas when needed
  • Be available and on-call to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours
  • Travel as needed to support day-to-day operations and emergencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + 7 years experience or Associate's degree + 10 years experience
  • 7 years relevant experience
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams through a planning process
  • Strong experience with project management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree
  • 7+ years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Emergency Management experience in Utility or Critical Infrastructure setting
  • Master's degree in Planning or Emergency Management
  • Use of the FEMA Comprehensive Planning Guide
  • Completion of Homeland Security courses: ICS 700, 100, 200, 300, 400
  • Incident Commander or other position ICS command and general staff qualifications
  • Understanding and experience implementing programs that follow National Standards for Emergency Management (e.g. FEMA, NIMS, ICS)
  • Experience working in a utility regulatory environment
