This role involves developing and maintaining Emergency Plans for Avangrid, working closely with leaders across the company to ensure plans are current and effective for training, exercises, and real-world events. The position also focuses on leading cross-functional teams to meet compliance requirements and support emergency response operations.
Responsibilities
- Execute a deliberate planning process to update existing plans or develop new plans, designing them to be effective for training and executable during emergencies
- Collaborate with training, exercise, and operations staff to ensure plans are trained to and evaluated for updates during exercises or after real-world events
- Update plans based on lessons learned and corrective actions
- Track and manage inventory of plans and maintenance schedules to meet external compliance and internal planning requirements
- Facilitate workshops, leading discussions, and planning sessions with cross-functional teams to solve problems
- Manage multiple projects, working effectively with various stakeholders to accomplish program goals
- Prepare and manage budgets, contracts, and expenses for the program area
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, from technical to executive leadership, developing clear materials and presentations
- Work collaboratively with other program staff and support the team in other areas when needed
- Be available and on-call to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours
- Travel as needed to support day-to-day operations and emergencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree + 7 years experience or Associate's degree + 10 years experience
- 7 years relevant experience
- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams through a planning process
- Strong experience with project management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree
- 7+ years relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Emergency Management experience in Utility or Critical Infrastructure setting
- Master's degree in Planning or Emergency Management
- Use of the FEMA Comprehensive Planning Guide
- Completion of Homeland Security courses: ICS 700, 100, 200, 300, 400
- Incident Commander or other position ICS command and general staff qualifications
- Understanding and experience implementing programs that follow National Standards for Emergency Management (e.g. FEMA, NIMS, ICS)
- Experience working in a utility regulatory environment
