About This Role

Provide engineering product support for Flight Controls' Regional Jet product lines within the Engine Systems and Aftermarket product centers. This role focuses on continuous improvement of product throughput test yield and delivered quality metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering product support to Flight Controls’ Regional Jet product lines within the Engine Systems and Aftermarket product centers
  • Support a modern Avionics electronics manufacturing and service facility
  • Define and maintain hardware test requirements
  • Provide engineering guidance and support to Fort Wayne (FTW) Engine Systems’ (ES) Operations organizations
  • Support the continuous improvement of engine and flight control’s product throughput test yield and delivered quality metrics
  • Provide on-site electrical design engineering support
  • Coordinate liaison activities with the Endicott, NY Design organization
  • Demonstrate ownership as the local focal point contact to Fort Wayne Operations and Programs functions during critical product root cause/corrective action investigations, and qualification activities
  • Act as the test authority on assigned products/processes
  • Interface with internal and external customers on performance metrics, quality issues, reliability and other requests as required

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ relevant professional experience
  • Electronics troubleshooting and instrument familiarity (analog, digital, power, communications)
  • Demonstrated ability in isolating electrical failures to root cause
  • Proficient at interpreting engineering documentation including but not limited to schematics, assembly drawings, and component data sheets
  • Ability to interpret and apply specifications, standards, and customer requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple activities in a team environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years relevant professional experience

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the manufacturing and test of high reliability circuit card assemblies and their associated line replaceable units (LRU)
  • Experience using advanced test and analysis instrumentation (spectrum, bus and logic analyzers, etc.)
  • Experience programming in various software environments (Basic, UNIX, C++, NI LabVIEW, NI Test Stand, etc.)
  • Experienced with use of complex analytical tools
  • Experience with Avionics’ interfaces
  • Familiar with SPC techniques, 6 Sigma tools
  • Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing environment
