Product Engineering Cloud Architect

About This Role

The Cloud Architect leads the design and definition of robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions for digital products, focusing on Azure. This role involves developing new digital products, managing project deliverables, and evangelizing a Cloud-first strategy for software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and design of robust infrastructure solutions prioritizing scalability, high performance, and secure network architecture.
• Partner closely with Cyber and Security teams to embed security controls within all infrastructure designs.
• Develop proof-of-concepts to showcase the feasibility of innovative ideas and infrastructure advancements.
• Take ownership of designing security at both the network and identity levels, ensuring secure access controls and authentication frameworks.
• Manage the cost of infrastructure in the cloud as well as manage budgets and cost forecasting.
• Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions, including Azure infrastructure and platform services.
• Lead project deliverables across multiple workstreams and guide projects with high quality and engineering discipline.
• Champion DevOps practices for continuous delivery and resilient, self-healing systems.
• Provide expert technical guidance in evaluating business requirements and determining their alignment with platform and API capabilities.
• Promote and uphold Agile and Scrum methodologies in development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance, especially within .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with Azure with a proven record of designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems.
• Minimum 1 year leadership/management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience within Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance. 5+ years of experience with Azure. Minimum 1 year leadership/management experience.

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Prior experience and exposure to BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qliksense), DI Tools (Informatica).
• Prior experience with PaaS and IaaS services (Microsoft SQL Server, database administration).
• Prior experience with networking, firewalls, load-balancers in Azure and on-premise.
• Prior experience analyzing and manipulating data on Excel or similar tools.
• Prior experience of cost management on Azure or any CSP, and cost saving techniques.
• Prior experience with messaging architectures SOAP and REST with JSON text encoding.
• Prior experience with Microsoft SQL Server and other common backend Microsoft technologies.
• Prior experience building sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals.
• Prior experience automating the provisioning and automation of architectures and solutions (Infrastructure-as-Code).
• Prior experience and understanding of event-driven and delegate-based design paradigms.
• Prior experience in data modeling techniques and knowledge of normal forms.
• Prior experience in developing of IT architecture plans and software development methodologies.
