Product Engineering Cloud Architect

About This Role

The Cloud Architect leads the definition and design of robust infrastructure solutions, prioritizing scalability, high performance, and secure network architecture to support Deloitte's digital products. This role involves partnering with Cyber and Security teams to embed security controls, developing proof-of-concepts, and managing cloud infrastructure costs. The architect will also guide project deliverables with a focus on engineering discipline and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and design of robust infrastructure solutions that prioritize scalability, high performance, and secure network architecture
• Partner closely with Cyber and Security teams to embed security controls within all infrastructure designs
• Develop proof-of-concepts to showcase the feasibility of innovative ideas and infrastructure advancements
• Take ownership of designing security at both the network and identity levels, ensuring secure access controls and authentication frameworks
• Provide technical support for analysis of business requirements and applicability to Platform/Enabler/API Platform capabilities
• Participate in E2E functionality assessment during Validation Testing phases (SIT, UAT)
• Manage the cost of infrastructure in the cloud as well as manage budgets and cost forecasting
• Drive recommendations for business prioritization, roadmaps, and product improvements
• Design efficient, secure, adaptable, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions that include Azure infrastructure and platform services
• Embrace the DevOps way of working for continuous delivery and self-healing systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years' experience in Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures
• Experience designing for scalability and performance with .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies
• 5+ years of experience with Azure, designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems
• Minimum 1 year leadership/management experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience within Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), stateless distributed architectures, and designing for scalability and performance, especially within, .Net, HTML5/CSS3, and WCF technologies. Minimum 5+ years of experience with Azure with a proven record of designing and delivering high-volume, highly scalable, and performant solutions on large-scale globally distributed systems. Minimum 1 year leadership/management experience.

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Experience with BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qliksense) and DI Tools (Informatica)
• Experience with PaaS services, leading practices, and adoption patterns
• Experience with IaaS, Microsoft SQL Server, and database administration (e.g., Always On)
• Experience with networking, firewalls, load-balancers in Azure and on-premise
• Experience analyzing and manipulating data on Excel or similar tools
• Experience of cost management on Azure or any CSP, and cost saving techniques
• Experience with messaging architectures SOAP and REST with JSON text encoding
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and other common backend Microsoft technologies
• Experience building sustainable relationships
• Experience automating provisioning and automation of architectures (Infrastructure-as-Code)
• Understanding of event-driven and delegate-based design paradigms
• Experience in data modeling techniques and knowledge of various normal forms
• Experience in developing IT architecture plans and software development methodologies
