Product Engineer 3

About This Role

As a Product Engineer at Lam Research, you will drive product development at the forefront of the semiconductor equipment industry, collaborating with customers and internal teams. You will provide real-time problem-solving and enhance product quality, directly contributing to The Etch Product Group.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively engineer innovative semiconductor equipment and process design solutions to resolve customer issues and improve product quality.
• Support product development from prototyping, development, deployment, and initial field support.
• Design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
• Create clear and concise reports to present analysis and support technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide product specification and development.
• Provide technical support for installation and/or diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex product issues.
• Maintain a high degree of customer engagement including face-to-face and international travel to customer sites.
• Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience
• Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
• Clear communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or a PhD; or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or no previous professional experience with a PhD, or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Prior product design and technical engineer experience
• Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
• Experience coordinating and communicating with cross-functional teams.
• Creative thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
