This role involves coordinating procurement processes by serving as a central communication point between suppliers, warehousing, and finance. The Procurement Coordinator will manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain records to ensure efficient inventory levels and accurate payment for goods and services.
Responsibilities
- Track and analyze packaging, hardware, ingredient, and cultivation material inventory levels and demands to recommend reorder points and amounts
- Manage all packaging inventory to prevent stock outs and production stoppages
- Communicate all packaging stock outs that result in production stoppages or changes to key stakeholders
- Provide ratings for all vendors in scorecards and make recommendations for vendor changes
- Place and communicate Purchase Orders with Suppliers, Vendors, and Manufacturers
- Order Maintenance (Adjustments, Shift in ETAs, Cost/Price Updates, etc.)
- Track and trace Purchase Orders into storage facilities
- Manage the onboarding process for new vendors
- Assist in the negotiation of pricing and credit terms
- Research and source new items
- Maintain order records for short shipments, over shipments, and price adjustments for payment
- Update order, vendor, and item files
- Work in conjunction with warehouse associates to receive orders at scheduled times
- Assist in the accurate accounting of inventory received, shipped and recorded
- Collaborate with warehousing and finance to correct inventory and order exceptions or discrepancies
- Ensure positive communications with warehousing, finance, and production operations
- Operate within company standards, KPIs, and policies to support a goal-oriented environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years experience in procurement and sourcing
- 2-3 years experience in distribution and warehousing
- 2-3 years of experience in inventory management/control
- 2 years minimum experience working within a data-driven environment
- 2 years proven ability to meet key performance indicators (KPI) and managing by objectives (MBOs)
- Working knowledge of procurement practices
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and computer application proficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years experience in procurement and sourcing, distribution and warehousing, and inventory management/control
Nice to Have
- Experience in a production and manufacturing environment
