About This Role

This role involves leading and driving process improvement initiatives within a food manufacturing facility to enhance Safety, Quality, and Reliability. The manager will utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies, identify opportunities, implement solutions, and ensure sustained performance gains.

Responsibilities

  • Champion process improvement efforts by guiding teams in setting goals, tracking progress, and applying effective improvement strategies
  • Use Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies to increase line efficiency, process reliability, and reduce downtime
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and develop control plans to ensure long-term success of improvement initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional teams to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and solve operational challenges
  • Support capital projects through commissioning, qualification, and verification activities
  • Coach and mentor plant personnel on process improvement tools and Lean Six Sigma principles
  • Analyze downtime data to prioritize and address improvement opportunities
  • Foster collaborative relationships to drive results and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards and systems
  • Occasionally travel for process improvement training and leadership conferences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of proven, successful leadership of teams
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to guide a team to collectively create actionable solutions
  • Ability to remain flexible and adjust promptly and effectively during times of change
  • Proven ability to leverage the capabilities and insights of individuals with diverse styles, abilities and motivations to achieve strong results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Achieve Black Belt certification
  • Strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and conceptual skills, balanced by ability to apply common sense

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of proven, successful leadership of teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing/reengineering business processes from current to future state
  • Green or Black Belt certified
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma implementation and project management
  • Training or exposure to statistical analysis
