Print Production Lead

About This Role

This role manages and maintains the entire production workflow for print jobs, acting as the departmental expert for all machine operations and processes. You will collaborate with customers, train associates in print production, and ensure quality output at Staples.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the production workflow for print
• Act as the go-to person for all machine operations and production processes
• Be the primary print producer for in-store, online, and email print orders
• Use print equipment and produce proofs and samples for consultation
• Design quick edits for print orders
• Train and coach associates in print production
• Create and manage production workflow, setting standards and processes
• Maintain machine functionality and organization, including planogramming completed orders and supplies
• Assess customers’ needs and provide exceptional customer service focused on quality
• Handle tasks like cleaning, stocking shelves, and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on store needs
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and rank production steps for many jobs
• Attention to detail and keen eye for noticing quality issues in print production
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Basic computer skills to open, save, and send electronic files, email, and use Microsoft Word or similar programs
• Understanding of desktop publishing software including Adobe and Publisher
• Ability to lift and move supplies in the 10-50 pound range
• Ability to stand and walk continuously
