About This Role

This role involves defining and developing material strategies, assessing supply resources, and planning inventory and production for a program portfolio at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. You will ensure proper scheduling for product lifecycles and manage material budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the definition and development of the material strategy for a program portfolio
  • Assess supply resources; aggregate and prioritize demand requirements; plan inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products
  • Participate in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management
  • Analyze and aggregate supply/demand requirements
  • Analyze purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • Assess rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements
  • Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
  • Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs
  • Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed
  • Approve requisitions
  • Receive/review requirements for non-standard parts
  • Analyze lead times and identify critical path procurements
  • Participate in proposal and material pricing activities associated with responding to customer RFPs
  • Responsible for material program budgets and analyzing program material cost inputs through the EAC financial reporting process

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials management or relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree
  • 9 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials management or relevant experience without a Bachelor's degree

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field of study
  • 9 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials management or relevant experience, or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 3 years with a Master's degree

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint ERP tools
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
