Principal Accounting Associate with Security Clearance

About This Role

This role involves providing accounting expertise with a focus on federal and DoD accounting, utilizing strong data analysis skills and knowledge of federal regulations. The associate will independently manage mission-critical accounting tasks and potentially oversee junior staff, requiring a Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze large and complex data sets using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and pivot tables
• Prepare and compile Federal Financial Statements and Agency Financial Reports, including Federal Budgetary Financial Statements such as the Statement of Budgetary Resources
• Support the MICP and work with OMB A-123 Internal Control Over Financial Reporting and Systems (ICOFR & ICOFS), IPERIA, risk assessments, test of design, test of effectiveness
• Develop and implement a new financial management control environment and compile statements of assurance
• Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
• Test IT controls in accordance with Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
• Test Complementary User Entity Controls (CUECs) and SSAEs related to third-party service providers

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience
• MA/MS degree in accounting
• Minimum five years federal accounting experience
• Two years DoD accounting experience
• Detailed knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
• Knowledge of OMB A-136 reporting requirements
• Experience using the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) and DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR)
• Ability to compile and analyze large and complex data sets using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with pivot table capability
• Experience with Property reporting in the DoD and related challenges, rules, and regulations (DoD FMR and SFFAS)
• Experience with production and compilation of Federal Financial Statements and Agency Financial Reports
• Knowledge and experience with Federal Budgetary Financial Statements such as the Statement of Budgetary Resources
• Experience with OMB A-123 Internal Control Over Financial Reporting and Systems (ICOFR & ICOFS), IPERIA, risk assessments, test of design, test of effectiveness
• Experience developing and implementing a new financial management control environment
• Experience compiling the statement of assurance
• Experience testing of IT controls in accordance with Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
• Experience testing Complementary User Entity Controls (CUECs), SSAEs related to third party service providers
• TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance

Qualifications

• MA/MS degree in accounting
• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience, including minimum five years federal accounting experience and two years DoD accounting
