Senior Security Specialist

About This Role

Support the C3I&N Directorate at Hanscom AFB by developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to protect sensitive information and facilities. Provide security support for controlled facilities, including access control and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training for protecting information, personnel, property, and facilities from unauthorized disclosure or misuse.
• Recommend and implement policies for evaluating the background of individuals granted access to sensitive information or work sites.
• Provide security support to controlled facilities, including exercising delegated access control.
• Assist in opening and closing controlled areas, arming/disarming alarm systems, and accomplishing end-of-day security checks.
• Be knowledgeable of DD security procedures, including classified transmission, mail protection, courier requirements, and security incident reporting.
• Work independently and apply proper security procedures and processes for assigned tasks.
• Utilize strong communication skills to build relationships with supported customers.

Requirements

• SECRET Clearance
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with SharePoint (managing, uploading, editing program data and files)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

• BA/BS
• 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, with 3 years in the DoD.
