Preventative Maintenance and Repair Technician

About This Role

This position involves inspecting and resolving issues with can quality, prioritizing maintenance, participating in production meetings, and coordinating conversion teams for a metal packaging production process. It requires strong skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilding to maintain high-speed automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review key indicators affecting quality and production with the shift supervisor and prioritize maintenance
• Inspect and resolve any issues with can quality
• Participate in production meetings
• Assist Back End and/or Front End Coordinator & PM&R Supervisor with coordinating conversion teams
• Suggest corrective actions to reduce overall conversion time
• Assist mechanics with production/equipment issues
• Walk the production line looking for potential maintenance items to prevent machine malfunction or repair equipment accordingly

Requirements

• Strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise
• Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment
• High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment
• Strong math and computer skills
• Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment
• Ability to travel domestically for training within the first one or two months with the Company
• Ability to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, with strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment re-build expertise required.

• Associate's/technical degree or a related vocational/technical certification (state electrical license, journeyman license, etc.)
• Working experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
