This Postdoctoral Pediatric Psychology Scholar position provides advanced training in clinical service, research, and professional development within a children's hospital and health science center. The program emphasizes evidence-based interventions, psychological assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration for children and adolescents. It is a one-year fellowship designed to prepare for licensure and board certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment and therapy for children and adolescents in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Deliver evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, family therapy) for medical and behavioral health concerns
- Co-lead and lead support groups for parents of inpatients
- Consult with multidisciplinary teams regarding psychosocial aspects of care
- Participate in research activities, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination
- Contribute to scholarly products (e.g., conference presentations, manuscripts)
- Attend didactic seminars and supervision sessions
- Engage in teaching and supervision of interns or practicum students
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD)
- Completion of an APA or CPA-accredited doctoral program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology
- Completion of an APA/CPA-approved internship
- Foundational training in child and pediatric psychology, including evidence-based interventions for children and families
- Eligible for provisional licensure in Tennessee prior to starting date
Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree (PhD or PsyD). Completion of an APA or CPA-accredited doctoral program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology. Completion of an APA/CPA-approved internship.
