The Physical Therapy Assistant I provides prescribed physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, aiming to restore and enhance patient performance. This role involves implementing care plans and ensuring proper documentation.
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive physical therapy treatment and related follow-up services.
- Trains and educates patients, family members, and others on treatment plans and goals.
- Provides physical therapy, including selection and use of assistive equipment.
- Reports patient progress and collaborates with the evaluating therapist for care plan implementation.
- Documents and submits patient reports and charges within established timeframes.
- Collaborates with patients and other healthcare personnel regarding coordination of care.
- Supervises Rehab Techs.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree accredited physical therapy assistant program
- No prior physical therapy experience required, 1 year preferred.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of Physical Therapy Experience
