Physical Therapy Assistant, Acute Care

About This Role

Perform rehabilitative patient treatments under the supervision of a physical therapist and provide objective data describing patient progress. Assist with clinical and operational issues to improve processes and utilization of rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

• Consult with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members to provide optimum quality patient care and effective operations
• Provide physical therapy interventions consistent with the plan of care and continuously provide input and direct feedback to the physical therapist relative to the patient’s treatment and status
• Maintain and complete patient records, reports and all written documentation effectively and in a timely manner, in accordance with regulatory and department guidelines
• Effectively utilize aides and other support staff as appropriate
• Effectively communicate with patient and/or family/significant other in providing education and literature in accordance with the patient’s age, physical condition and cultural needs

Requirements

• Associate degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program accredited by the APTA
• Current licensure in the State of New Jersey
• CPR certification
