Provide ongoing physical therapy evaluations and treatments to clients within Home Health of Western Colorado, ensuring compliance with physician's orders and state/federal regulations. This PRN role involves leadership, supervision of PT staff, and travel to client's homes.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing therapy evaluations and treatments to clients per physician’s orders
- Provide leadership and supervision of physical therapy services to other physical therapists, assistants and aides
- Evaluate and treat clients, communicate with families, physicians and other health team members
- Maintain appropriate documentation of services and comply with State and Federal regulations
- Participate in on-going agency meetings and conduct in-service and training for agency staff
- Accurately screen and evaluate clients and provide PT upon written order of physician within twenty-four (24) hours of referral
- Maintain a line of communication with appropriate agencies for prior and continuing authorization of therapy treatment
- Communicate a report regarding the client’s progress to attending physician and consult regarding changes in condition
- Re-evaluate the client in conjunction with the attending physician
- Maintain productivity standards as directed by supervisor
Requirements
- Pediatric experience
- Currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state where practicing
- Ability to understand medical terminology and its application to physical therapy
- Coordination and dexterity for treating clients and handling equipment
- Adequate strength and endurance for moving clients and equipment
- Ability to communicate with clients to motivate them in rehabilitation
- Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping and documentation
Qualifications
- Graduate from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
