This role involves providing physical therapy services to children aged 0-3 with autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disabilities within an Early Intervention program, focusing on developmental milestones and overall potential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of children aged 0-3 with autism spectrum disorder or related developmental disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication, play, and daily routines goals
- Provide physical therapy services in home and community settings, including natural environments and play-based activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and teachers to ensure a comprehensive approach
- Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and support
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes
Requirements
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy (PT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in early intervention or pediatrics
- Licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy (PT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in early intervention or pediatrics
