Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

About This Role

Implement and administer physical therapy services for pediatric patients with various disabilities and delays, focusing on improving their independence and functioning in a home health setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and meet patient/family needs by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
• Develop goals appropriate to child, creating and implementing physical therapy treatment plans with physician input
• Assist pediatric patients develop or regain physical, neurological, cognitive and/or social/emotional functioning
• Implement skilled interventions to maximize each individual child's potential
• Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician order and IFSP
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing home exercise programs
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• Texas State PTA License
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience preferred

Nice to Have

• A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
