Implement and administer physical therapy services for pediatric patients with various disabilities and delays, focusing on improving their independence and functioning in a home health setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care and meet patient/family needs by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
- Develop goals appropriate to child, creating and implementing physical therapy treatment plans with physician input
- Assist pediatric patients develop or regain physical, neurological, cognitive and/or social/emotional functioning
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize each individual child's potential
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician order and IFSP
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing home exercise programs
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- Texas State PTA License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience preferred
Nice to Have
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
